Measuring your Dog for a Coat
When buying online we understand it’s hard when you can’t come and fit it yourself. So we have put this little guide together so you have a better chance of getting the right size!
Tools needed
The correct size is everything
Dogs come in all shapes & sizes, so the only absolute way to fit them with gear is to go by their measurements.
Measure Correctly
Girth - This is the measurement around the chest or higher waist of the dog. Take care to fit the tape measure around the widest part. Start measuring from the bottom of your dog’s rib cage, a good rule of thumb is to leave a finger between the coat and your dog. Yes you want it to be snug but you don’t want it to suffocate or hinder your dogs breathe capabilities.
Neck - Measure around your dogs neck with a measuring tape of with a piece of string. Once you have determined that its always good to add a couple of cm’s as This part needs to be fairly snug but not tight
Length - This is the part that runs from the top of the neck line down to the tail. The length can be more of a preference. Some people don’t like to cover the tail too much and some people prefer it to be longer.
