Black Hawk Healthy Benefits Weight Management Dog Food has been specifically developed as a lower calorie* diet by Black Hawk animal nutritionists and vets, to help adult dogs maintain a healthy weight. It contains supplementary L-carnitine to help boost fat metabolism and maintain strong, lean muscles.
The tasty kibble has a unique shape that fills the bowl and aims to slow eating, with ingredients to help dogs feel fuller for longer.
A nutrient-dense & lower-calorie formula, ideal for;
- Dogs with a 'more sedentary' (less active) lifestyle,
- Breeds predisposed to weight gain,
- Breeds that are highly food motivated, and
- Neutered dogs and older dogs, whose caloric needs are known to be reduced, will also greatly benefit from this diet
*The caloric content is 9-10% less than that of Black Hawk Original Chicken & Rice adult dog food.
This weight management dog food contains both fresh and hydrolysed chicken, which are both high-quality digestible protein sources that help maintain lean muscle mass in dogs while they lose weight. This is important because losing weight too quickly or without adequate protein intake can result in the loss of muscle mass, which can be detrimental to a dog's overall health and well-being. And while this product is lower in calories, it is packed with concentrated vitamins and minerals, so your dog will still get all the nutrients they need for optimum health.
This formula has lots of healthy fibre to prevent your pet from feeling hungry between meals. This will make it easier for you to keep your pet at a healthy weight when you see them full and satisfied. The formula contains carrot fibre, a natural source of low-calorie fermentable fibre, which helps to promote digestive health and regulate bowel movements. Additionally, carrot fibre has antioxidant benefits due to its high content of vitamin A and other phytonutrients.
Plant cellulose, another form of dietary fibre, is made up of long chains of glucose molecules that are very hard for pets to digest. These ingredients are great for weight management as they help to increase the bulk of the diet without adding extra calories.
The hollow cube-shaped kibbles, filled with natural fibres, have a reduced density, meaning fewer calories per kilo. The larger expanded kibble makes the bowl more appealing whilst feeding less to help counteract overfeeding by pet parents who prefer to fill the bowl. Plus, the unique shape helps to slow down those fast eaters who gobble, scoff or inhale their food.

Important Feeding Information
- While watching their weight, it's best to treat them with only a few kibble from their daily meal and ensure that extra foods don't exceed 10% of their daily allowance. If your dog is known to have a weight issue, we recommend a visit to your vet.
- Neutered, indoor and less active dogs = less than 1 hour/day of low impact activity eg. lead walking.
- 1 metric cup (250ml) = approximately 110g.
- Make sure fresh water in a clean bowl is available at all times.

Delivery

If you order before 12pm Monday to Friday your order will be dispatched the same day. We are based on beautiful Waiheke Island, although it's not often our NZ wide customers know this as our delivery times are so fast! If you place your order before 1pm Monday to Friday and are based in Auckland or the North Island delivery is overnight to two working days. South Island and some Rural Addresses over to three working days.
If your order is small and can fit in a satchel and placed before 12pm it will likely reach you overnight on the next working day across the country.
Please note we are currently unable to deliver outside New Zealand. We are also unable to deliver to PO boxes.
Great Barrier Island & Bulky orders under $79.
Bulky orders under $78.99 may incur an additional freight charge of $10. We may contact you before shipping your order to discuss this.
Waiheke Hand Delivery
All Waiheke orders are hand delivered by the team here at Pet Connect and for free, no matter where you live on the island or what you buy. Waiheke orders placed Mon - Fri before 11am will be delivered *same day.
*(Unless anything unforeseen occurred. We're a small team so if one of us is ill we may not be able to complete orders till the following day, this is rare although a possibility.)
Click and Collect (Waiheke customers)
If you have placed your order before 9am Mon- Fri, it will be available for you to pick up from our retail premise. If you placed your order after 9am it will be available to pick up the following business day. This is due to a portion of our stock being stored at another premise. Please provide your contact number and we make contact when your order is ready to collect.

The product must be identical — same brand, model, size, and variant — new, and currently in stock at the competitor at its standard retail price. The Price Pledge applies to the product price only and excludes delivery charges. If purchasing online, standard freight costs apply in addition to the matched price. Where a competitor's lower price is only available through an auto-ship or subscription programme, we will match that price provided the customer signs up to our Auto Order programme for the same product.
What doesn't qualify
We're unable to match prices from overseas retailers or international websites, private sellers or Trade Me private listings, or prices that are part of a clearance sale, flash sale, bundle deal, or pricing error. Price Pledge cannot be combined with other discount codes or promotional offers.
How to claim
Email us at info@petconnect.nz with the subject line "Price Pledge Claim" and include the product name and details, the competitor's name, and a link or screenshot of their listing showing the price and stock availability. We'll get back to you within 1 business day. Pre-purchase claims will receive a one-time discount code to use at checkout; post-purchase claims approved within the 7-day window will receive a refund of the price difference to your original payment method.
